SZINORG Group at the Eastern Hungary Economic Forum 2025 — Debrecen's development in focus

On 4 June 2025 Debrecen hosted the Portfolio Eastern Hungary Economic Forum 2025, a conference centred on the region's economic future, the scope for cooperation between local players, and the challenges ahead.

Sándor Szabó, Deputy CEO of SZINORG Group, took part in the event's opening panel discussion. Participants agreed that the key to Debrecen's sustainable development is strategic cooperation between businesses, the municipality and the University of Debrecen.

New opportunities in real-estate development

As Debrecen's economic standing has strengthened, the property market too faces new opportunities. The University of Debrecen's international student community of more than 7,000, the rapid expansion of industrial investment and the continuous inflow of workers are generating substantial demand for housing, accommodation and infrastructure — in Debrecen and in the surrounding settlements alike.

Investment plans for the near future — among them two new tram lines, rail and parking infrastructure upgrades and government-supported construction programmes — will help make the city more liveable and more competitive, for incoming companies and residents alike.
