Our history and our approach
Debrecen is not simply where we operate. It is the foundation of our expertise, our growth and how we see the future.
The history of SZINORG Group reaches back to 1951. Its predecessor, Tanácsi Építőipari Vállalat, was the leading contractor in Hajdú-Bihar county, and laid the professional foundations we still build on today.
Incorporation and privatisation in 1991 moved the company onto a modern, competitive footing. Over the following decades its construction expertise widened into real-estate development and asset management, joinery manufacturing, facility management and hospitality. A defining milestone came in 2013 with the formation of SZINORG Universal Zrt., which today holds the Group together as its strategic and asset-management company.
As a wholly Hungarian-owned local group, we work on developments that fit the long-term growth of Debrecen and its region. For us a project succeeds only if it still performs years later — sustainable, and genuinely valuable to our partners, our tenants and the wider city.

Decades of experience
Leadership
On 1 January 2026 a long-planned change of leadership took effect at SZINORG Group. Gyula Szűcs, previously Chairman and CEO, continues as Chairman of the Board, while Sándor Szabó has taken over as Chief Executive Officer.
The change builds on continuity and renewal in equal measure. Gyula Szűcs's decades of experience in construction and company leadership remain a strategic anchor for the Group, while Sándor Szabó's background in finance and real-estate portfolio development brings a fresh perspective to its next phase.
The purpose of the generational handover is for the Group to continue creating value in Debrecen and the region, with a stable Hungarian ownership base, local roots and a long-term developer's outlook.
